Michael Probst

With more than 17 years of experience in the sales and marketing of IT solutions, Probst carries adistinguished industry track record from working with international companies with complex business environments such as Sun Microsystems, Landis+Gyr and SAS Institute. Probst has held specific experience in direct and indirect sales, distribution channel and alliance collaboration, program management, strategic planning and business development in various industries specialized on IoT and Big Data Analytics solutions.

Before joining SAP in March 2017, Probst spent five years working for SAS Institute as Lead Business Development for introducing and marketing of IoT solutions in the form Big Data Analytics. He effectively interacted with various customers across Europe, Middle East and Africa in the Energy, Manufacturing, Life Science and Insurance industry.

During the engagement at Landis+Gyr, Probst also served as VP Marketing and established effective messaging for IoT solutions and in particular for Smart Metering. At the times, he was also proactive in engaging with various interest groups in smart metering including ESMIG  and other industry organizations.

Probst studied at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland and holds a Master’s degree in Economics. Michael Probst supports at SAP the Swiss Business Development team, which serves the top 100 customers in in Switzerland. He is responsible for developing and building relationships with customers in various industries where IoT, Big Data and Analytics topics are relevant to grow the operational excellence and develop new Business Models fueled by data.
